Our Services
Recycling
Do your bit for the planet and bring in your:
- batteries
- light globes
- medication blister packs
- printer cartridges
- plastic bread tags
- bottle lids*
- small** e-waste
They’ll be recycled via various organisations – let’s keep it all out of landfill!
*Only codes 2 & 4, clean and with any foam or plastic inserts removed.
**As we have very limited storage, please only bring small items, eg. that can fit into a shoebox.
Rescued Food Market
The cost of living is ever-increasing yet many supermarkets and shops throw food away on a daily basis. On Wednesdays from 11:00 AM come along to Railway House and stock up on rescued food!
We usually have day-old bakery items, fruit, vegetables and sometimes dairy and pantry items.
Please BYO bag.
Book Swap
Most people have a collection of already-read books gathering dust and taking up space on their shelves. Unless a book is exceptional, chances are you won’t read it again. So why not bring your quality used books to Railway House, and peruse our Book Swap trolley for something to borrow?
Compost Club
Pay a one-time $10 fee and receive a compost caddy which you can fill and return to Railway House to swap for an empty caddy.
Contact admin@railwayneighbourhoodhouse if you would like to join, or just drop into the office.
Photocopying & Printing
Printing, scanning and photocopying services available for a small donation of 10c per page.
