Food Relief at Railway House

Railway House collects non-perishable food donations for asylum seekers as well as for local residents who are in need of food relief.  We are very happy to accept your donations during office hours, Monday through Thursday.

Volunteers regularly deliver donations to the Uniting Asylum Seeker Welcome Centre in Brunswick and we keep a pantry of essentials at Railway House so that we can cater for any walk-in requests for food assistance.

Food items that are always needed:

  • Basmati rice
  • Instant coffee
  • Biscuits – sweet and savoury
  • Breakfast cereals
  • Baked beans
  • Coconut milk
  • Dried fruit
  • Dried lentils (red or green)
  • Honey
  • Jam

  • Snacks, especially for children eg muesli bars
